Panwa Beach is also known by local Phuket residents and expats as Khao Khat Beach and is located on the South – Western coastline of Phuket. Panwa beach might not be ideal for swimming however this does not stop many expats and local Thai residents to visit this wonderful Phuket beach. People visit this picturesque Phuket beach because of its tranquility and its spectacular beauty.

If you enjoy a long walk on the beach then you should definitely consider visiting the outstanding Panwa beach in Phuket. It is the ideal Phuket beach for those of you that would like to escape the noise and commercialization of other popular Phuket beaches such as Patong beach, Karon beach or Kata beach. It will seem that you are in a completely different world.

There are not a great number of Phuket resorts and hotels in the Panwa beach area however you will encounter more than a few high end Phuket real estate developments at Panwa beach. Some of the most spectacular and exclusive Phuket villas have been build in the Panwa beach area of Phuket.

Panwa Beach Location


If you are interested in visiting Panwa beach then you will need to head over to Phuket Town. If you are staying at a Phuket hotel or resort along the west coast of Phuket then you are best off taking the road from Patong over the hill to Kathu. Keep going straight until you drive into Phuket town. Then follow the Sakadit road which will take you south east and look out for the signs for Cape Panwa and Panwa beach. Once you get to the Panwa beach area then you will need to follow the road all the way until the end until you see the Panwa Beach bar. You can park your car or motorbike there and head down to the lovely Panwa beach.

Panwa Beach Activities


As with most beaches on the east coast of Phuket, there is not a great deal of activities for those people that visit Panwa beach. Swimming conditions are not ideal for most swimmers so most people that visit Panwa beach simply enjoy the beach and sunbath or go for a long and nice beach walk along Panwa beach. Panwa beach is also a popular place for local Phuket residents to enjoy a barbeque or picnic. If you are lucky then you can also enjoy a game of beach football with local Phuket residents.

Panwa Beach Restaurants


There is not a great deal of options for visitors when it comes to Panwa beach restaurants. The most popular Panwa beach restaurant is the Panwa Beach Bar. This Panwa beach restaurant serves a basic Thai menu which includes a few western items as well. It is also a great place to enjoy a nice cold Singha or Chang beer while enjoying the beautiful view of the Andaman Sea and several nearby islands. There are also a few smaller Thai restaurants at Panwa beach where you can enjoy some fresh Thai seafood from the Andaman Sea. If you would prefer something more luxurious then you could indeed visit one of the restaurants which are part of the Panwa beach hotels and resorts.

Panwa Beach Hotels and Resorts


Most of the properties located along Panwa beach are high end residents Phuket real estate properties. There are in fact only two Phuket resorts and hotels which are located directly along the beach of Panwa. The most popular Panwa beach hotel is the Phuket Novotel Panwa beach resort. The other resort which is located along Panwa beach is called By the Sea. ..
